Marion County, West Virginia
In West Virginia, counties are encouraged to identify a collaborative of community early childhood programs and public school classrooms to attend training in program-wide adoption of the Pyramid Model (Early Childhood Positive Behavior Support). A county leadership team and trainers are identified and all are trained intensively together. Each county team is provided with technical assistance and mentorship as they expand their implementation across classrooms and programs within their county. County-wide implementation is supported by West Virginia Child
Care Resource and Referral Agencies, West Virginia Early Childhood Training Connections, and the Early Childhood Positive Behavior Support Training Team provided through the West Virginia Department of Education. We profile Marion County here as it demonstrates county-wide implementation with all early childhood sites participating in the model (i.e., universal preschool, Head Start, and early childhood special education).
